Piramal Water Solutions: Accounting for every drop that reaches the end customer

Enter Cloud Computing: We know where our water goes. We know when, where and how it is being produced. And we know who is accessing it. At this very moment,  Sarvajal filtration units are feeding us this information live, so that we can account for every drop we provide.

The “Soochak” – Managing water production and quality remotely

We developed the “Soochak” Controller to help track all of the water produced by our Franchisees. Every filtration unit sends us SMSs to tell us how its doing: On/off, low/high pressure, possible leaks, TDS levels, total water filtered – the works. Using this information as our “eyes”, we can control operations remotely as needed. Machine health is maintained, water production is monitored, and water quality is assured.

Our RFID device – Providing 24-7 access to clean water, with a twist

Meet the first Water ATM. Customers get 24-7 access to clean water using their pre-pay cards (or coins), and can recharge their cards using their mobile phones – just like buying minutes. And we receive water usage data of a penetration and richness that has never been seen before. We know where, when, and to whom every drop of water is going. The potential applications for this technology are practically limitless.

Enterprise Management Systems – Using live data to make decisions

Sarvajal Enterprise Management Systems (SEMS) is the platform we developed to sift, sort and analyze the data we receive from our Soochaks and RFID devices in real-time. When water production or maintenance issues occur at a filtation unit, we are the first ones to know.

The sum is greater than its parts

Every Soochak and every RFID device we install deepens our understanding of how to reach poor rural and urban communities – in India and globally. We hope to share these Solutions as widely as possible. To learn more about our technologies, visit the Piramal Water website (coming soon).
